One of the first challenges for new players in Soulframe is discovering that most of the in-game map is covered in clouds or fog, making it difficult to explore and navigate.
In this guide, we’ll explain why the Soulframe map is clouded, how to unlock new map areas, and the fastest way to clear the fog by activating World Trees.
When you first start your adventure in Soulframe, almost 90% of the map appears clouded over. At first, it looks like those areas are locked or inaccessible, but the truth is that you can freely explore the entire world from the beginning.
The clouds simply mean that you haven’t officially “discovered” those areas yet. Even if you walk through them, the game may still mark them as undiscovered until you perform a specific action.
To remove the clouds from the Soulframe map, you need to find and activate World Trees. Each World Tree is cursed with a spear stuck in its trunk. By approaching the tree and removing the spear, you unlock that region and the fog disappears from the map.
✨ Pro tip: The icons for World Trees are faintly visible under the clouds, so you don’t need to waste time searching blindly.
If you want a full map without fog, you can unlock every World Tree in about one hour by running directly to them one after another.
